How can we help?

Getting started

Tidelog needs a Mac with macOS 26 or later.

  1. Open Templates and build your typical day: blocks with a duration, fixed blocks with a time, and breaks.
  2. On Today, create today's plan from a template and start the first block.
  3. Connect the tools you report hours to in Settings › Integrations.

Clockify

Create a personal API key in Clockify under Profile settings › API, paste it in Tidelog and press Test connection. Then choose the project for each work block in its template.

Live timers with a Jira ticket

Turn on Ask for a Jira ticket on a Clockify block. When the block runs, pick a ticket from the side panel and Tidelog starts a Clockify timer named after it. The timer stops on micro-breaks, pauses and when you switch tickets.

If your workspace blocks manual time

Some Clockify workspaces don't accept time entered after the fact. In those workspaces only live timers are accepted, so use Ask for a Jira ticket on every block you need logged. Time that Clockify rejects shows up under Failed entries.

Required fields

If your workspace requires a custom field such as a work type, Tidelog fills it with the project's default, or with the value from your most recent entry in that project.

Jira

Enter your site (for example yourteam.atlassian.net), your email and an API token created at id.atlassian.com › Security › API tokens. Tidelog lists the open issues assigned to you. A block set to Jira · ticket files a worklog on the issue when each stretch of work closes.

Toggl Track

Copy your API token from Profile settings in Toggl Track and paste it in Tidelog. Each closed stretch of work becomes an entry in the project you chose.

Calendar

Allow calendar access from Settings › Integrations and choose which calendars to include. Today's timed events appear as fixed blocks. They stay on your Mac and are never sent anywhere.

Failed entries

When a provider rejects an entry, Logged today shows it as failed. Open it to read the reason and press Retry. Common reasons:

  • Invalid credentials: the token was revoked or expired. Paste a new one.
  • The workspace doesn't allow past time: see Clockify above.
  • No network: Tidelog retries on its own when you're back online.

Your data

Plans, templates and history live on your Mac and sync through your own iCloud account. Tokens live in your Keychain. To start over, delete your templates and plans in the app; to disconnect a service, press Disconnect in its card. Details are in the privacy policy.

Billing and refunds

Purchases and subscriptions go through the Mac App Store. Manage or cancel a subscription in App Store › your account › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Contact

Write to hello@tidelog.app. Tidelog is made by one person, so replies take up to two business days. Include your macOS version, what you expected and what happened; a screenshot helps.
